Acceptance
I agree how George states that, you're friends have more influence then anyone else during you're teenage years because those years, you want to fit in even if it means doing something that you don't think is right.. when it comes down to it you're not really thinking about if the choice you're about to make is right or wrong you just want people to like you and think you're cool; Aka being considered popular or extreamly well liked or looked upon highly, which is what most kids' during their teenage years strive to achieve. For instance I know some kids' who start drinking or smoking pot not because thats what they really want but rather to impress other people to gain acceptance instead of just being themselves', another example is when you're friends with someone that start to act different when others are around just to impress those kids' who would be labled as popular, this typically happens during the early to middle teenage years. As you get older people start to relize that its not important how other people view you but more so how you view you're self.

i kinda agree with that but not all people get influenced to gain popularity.
i agree, most people do stuff to appear different, not because that's what they really like
